Modern Kitchen

Our Process: What To Expect?

There are many factors to consider when you want to redo your kitchens, such as the floor plan, electrical and mechanical placement, product selection and appliance location. It can be a tough task when you want to tackle them alone, but, by working with a professional from HAPPY SEVEN, you can simplify and streamline the process for you.

Here are several key steps of the whole process that you can expect when planning for your kitchen renovation:

STEP 1: Needs Analysis

The purpose of this step is for us to understand your goals for the kitchen renovation. It’s a meaningful talk that delves deeply into your likes, dislikes, needs and desires, and opens the conversation to some ideas and possibilities.

For this initial meeting, you could expect it to take several hours and there may even be some research for you to do, like completing a design questionnaire. This step is the beginning of the whole process and therefore, critical for a successful kitchen renovation because it sets a foundation for the following works.

STEP 2: Conceptual Design

Several days after your needs assessment, you’ll be presented with up to three concepts for the kitchen renovation project. Each alternative will incorporate your must-have desire and will include floor plans, elevations and 3D drawings to help you in your decision.

This is an interesting step in the whole process because it is when your vision starts to come into being. An idea or dream now comes into a possibility! By going deeply with the designer, you will be able to visualize what your cabinetry will look like, where your appliances will be installed and even where your cooking utensils, dishware and pots and pans will go.

STEP 3: Design Refinements

After you have chosen your kitchen concept, the designer will arrange a meeting with you once again to review the design and discuss any potential changes that you wish to make. This is the best opportunity to refine the details that require additional tweaks and to ensure that you like all aspects of your renovated kitchen.

From now on, you will expect to receive a final revision on the preferred design concept, as well as a soft version plan for your new kitchen.

STEP 4: Product

This is the fun part of the design stage – you are now to go shopping for materials for your new kitchen! You could visit a design centre or individual supplier showrooms to touch, see and experience a range of cabinets, countertops, flooring, tile and other fixtures.

Be patient in this process, as you want to select the best product combination to suit your needs for the long-term enjoyment of your new kitchen. Usually, it takes one or two weeks for you to make the budget plan and move to the next step.

STEP 5: preparation for cabinet installation

Not everyone loves this step because the onsite work comes with dust and mess. However, you must turn the old kitchen into a new one. In this process, you are supposed to see the following work on site: old floor, kitchen, countertop and backsplash removal; electrician and plumbing works; new floor installation, and last but not least, the garbage disposal. This step is supposed to provide a neat and clean environment for your cabinet installer to work on. The quality of the work in this step is essential for your new kitchen. Even a tiny mistake may cause an endless headache for you in the future.

STEP 6: cabinet installation

Our installation team will come to install the cabinets for you. Cabinet installation is accurate work. An experienced installer will put their feet into the shoe of the designer. This step typically takes one or two days. You will see the blueprint of your kitchen when this step is done.

STEP 7: countertop installation

Congratulations! You come to the last part of the whole process! In this step, our countertop partners will bring the materials to your house and install them for you. Usually, it takes one day to put the countertop and backsplash on the cabinets. This is a magical step because the countertop and backsplash will bring the soul to your kitchen. And you could enjoy life with your family in the kitchen now.
